So here’s my favourite Christmas gift (aside from the long-gone Toblerone)…

It a box of old silks and things, untouched since the 1950′s that my Granny used to make silk flowers from. The writing on top is my Mum’s from when she was little and just learning joined-up, aww! It says “Stamens, Labels, Bags, Ear-clips & Brooch pins” and contains all of that and many more wonders.

The pure silk fabric squares are in incredible colours and entirely unfaded having been stashed away all these years. There’s even a primitive Bedazzler style contraption.

So this is the starting point for a new collection, lots of work to do but I’ll be keep a full document of the process. Watch this space to see some of the other treasures contained within, and the final result around the end of Feb!
