The Colour Run

I love bringing a little colour to life making my tassels and feel very grateful that I get to come to work every day surrounded by a veritable spectrum of shimmering yarns, like so…

rainbow reels

So when I saw people walking around Central London earlier this year, looking like an explosion at a paint factory…

…I was intrigued. Turns out they had been taking part in The Colour Run, a 5k race with a giant colour fight thrown in along the way. Fun!

I have entered into The Colour Run taking palce in Brighton on the UK’s beautiful South coast on September 14th. I felt it was only fitting to make the most of the event and run in aid of a small charity that helps to bring colour to the lives of some of Britain’s vulnerable children.

The Art Room offers a creatively-based therapeutic environment in Primary schools in Oxford and London to help build children’s confidence, independence and self-esteem. You can read more about their work here.

Now I am not a natural born runner but have been in training for the event as I want to give it my all. You can help motivate my pavement-pounding as well as benefitting this wonderful charity by sponsoring me here…

I am offering a pair of bespoke tassel earrings to one lucky sponsor and I’ll be wearing my own on the day. I’ll be back to show you the colourful results!

Rainbow Hoops in Grazia

Grazia recently featured my Rainbow Tassel Hoops in a ‘Carnival Jewels’ feature, fittingly as the vibrancy of London’s Notting Hill Carnival was the inspiration for this style. I’ll be wearing mine there this year.

Grazia 6.8.13 Jenny Jenny, Tita Bijoux

The response to the Grazia piece has been overwhelming so sadly these are currently SOLD OUT. I’ll be back whipping some up in September, when some new pieces will launch too. Watch this space or join the mailing list to find out first.

Bespoke Tassels…

I had a lovely customer request a pair of tassels in a copper colour to pick out the gorgeous tones in this dress…

So I acquired the most beautiful copper yarn I could find for her, and here is the finished article…

and in full effect on the dancefloor, where tassels are happiest!

The copper colour was so lovely, I’m going to add it to the main range. Thank you to Nicki for the inspiration!

Tassels in Tokyo

These two were spotted during an incredible day watching SUMO in all it’s glory. The white pair face West and represent Autumn and the White Tiger God ‘Byakko’.

And the red represent Summer and the Vermillion Peacock ‘Suzaku’.

All in all the sumo experience was a feast for the senses, sight especially!

Class up your correspondence…

My penpals are in for a treat. Yesterday I acquired a set of stunningly stylish stamps featuring an expertly modelled selection of classic British fashion. From a swishing Jean Muir dress set off with matching turban to a sharper than sharp Tommy Nutter suit, this selection of 1st class designs are well worth the newly hiked postage rate. They are available here.

I also received a suprise in my letterbox, a charity mailout from the excellent Children with Cancer UK contained within the most enticingly celeb-ified envelope I think I’ve ever seen. I’ll be donating to support their wonderful work here and joining the likes of Phil Collins, Brucie, Inspector Frost, Ant and Dec and that guy off The Bill.

I am off to the home of old school glamour, gold and glitz… Hollywood.

While this is good for future inspirations, for now it means that any online orders placed after today will be handmade and sent out on my return after the 24th February. Check with my stockists if you are desperate for supplies before then!

Planning to take in a wonderful exhibition of swimming pool photography at the Palm Springs Museum, my idea of how things should be…
